In 2018, “Stay Awake” was founded with its first day event taking place in 2019. Rooted in Mark 13:32–37, the day brings together around 250–290 people from across the diocese to worship God, deepen their faith, and build Christian community. The programme includes keynote talks, workshops, times of worship, Mass, opportunities for fellowship, children and youth groups run by wonderful youth leaders, ending with a shared meal provided after Mass (usually in the form of pizza!).

Families are a key part of the day: around 25% of attendees are young people under the age of 17. Children and youth are in age-appropriate groups led by experienced youth ministers, allowing parents and carers to fully engage with the teaching.

This is an event for everyone and anyone - if you think you are too young, you are not. If you think you are too old, you are not. If you think you are too middle-aged, you are not!
